From Sales Executive to Mountain Guide
Before embarking on his adventure in the tourism industry, Gerald Cajolo worked as a sales executive for semi-conductor consumable testing tools. However, in 2004, he found his true calling and joined a tour operator company. There, he underwent extensive training to become a skilled mountain guide. Over time, he also honed his expertise as a survival camping facilitator, marine sports guide, and educational tour coordinator, among other roles. Gerald’s love for exploration took him to stunning places such as Coron, Siargao, Hundred Islands, Bohol, Sagada, etc., while also working side by side with his wife, who later joined the same tour company.

Enriching Knowledge with Academic Pursuits
Driven by a desire to learn more about tourism and hospitality, Gerald enrolled at the prestigious London Institute of Business and Technology (LIBT). His dedication led him to pursue Level 4/5 Hospitality and Tourism Management, which exposed him to essential principles behind tourism destination management, cultural tourism, sustainability, and tourism research. Armed with in-depth knowledge of the industry, Gerald aimed to elevate his professionalism and efficiency in his work.

A Transition to Greater Contributions
Gerald’s association with Ralph Consulting initially began as a personal assistant to the principal consultant. However, with his newfound knowledge and credentials from LIBT, he stepped into another role as an associate and eventually as a research assistant. Reflecting on his journey, Gerald shared, “Initially, I thought tourism was solely about traveling, which is why I applied for the job to experience free travel opportunities. But after my LIBT education, I am delighted to realize that my contributions extend beyond merely guiding visitors; I can also actively contribute to the industry’s development through research and meaningful projects.”
